MyGamePlan’s Player of the Month recognizes the player from our partner clubs who shows the highest engagement inside the MyGamePlan Player App over a calendar month.

Award criteria
The award is based on two usage metrics:
Videos watched
The total number of videos viewed in the Player App during the month. This can include match clips and performance review content curated by staff, opponent-specific video for upcoming fixtures, and training clips.
Sessions
The number of separate sessions a player has in the Player App across the month. This matters because it captures repeat engagement over time, not just a single viewing streak.
We use these two metrics together to identify the player who is consistently engaging with the content provided to support preparation and development.
Why we track this
Clubs invest significant time into creating feedback and preparing players with the right clips. The value of that work depends on whether it is actually being reviewed and applied.
The Player App is designed to make that review easy and structured. Players can access curated performance video alongside relevant data, review direct opponent footage ahead of matchday, revisit training moments, and stay aligned with their individual development plan throughout the season.

Just as MyGamePlan can measure Player App engagement for this award, club staff can track these same behaviours internally. For example, whether players are consistently watching the clips that are assigned, returning throughout the week, and staying engaged over time. This helps coaches support the players who need it, and reinforce a culture of preparation and ownership.
Over time, consistent engagement is a practical signal of preparation habits outside matchday and outside training, and a way for clubs to reinforce a culture of ownership.
This award is a small way to recognize that standard.
