At the end of every season, we celebrate individual standout performances. The MyGamePlan Player of the Month award recognizes one player whose data and video evidence made them the standout performer across a specific month of European football.
Each month we look at different positions and competitions to ensure we're evaluating players fairly. This is November 2025.
Why This Player?
Before we announce, it's important to understand the criteria. This isn't about goal tallies or clean sheets in isolation. It's about comprehensive performance: how a player influenced their team's primary objectives, whether they executed their tactical role consistently, and whether they created measurable impact relative to the opposition they faced.
Data from event and tracking systems help us measure speed of play, decision-making, spatial awareness, and positioning. Video helps us confirm the context behind the numbers.
Judging Process
We review performances across the major European leagues: Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1. Position matters for comparison, so we isolate midfielders from forwards from defenders. And we weight performances against stronger opposition more heavily than easier matches.
Using benchmarking tools within MyGamePlan, our team narrowed down the pool to the top performers, then reviewed the video to confirm the data story.
The November 2025 Pick
This month's standout earned it through consistent excellence across both defensive and offensive contributions. Higher than average in key actions, positioned intelligently, and repeatedly made the right decision in transition.
We'll update this post later in the week with the full breakdown and video clips. Check back soon.
Until then, here's what we're tracking: progressive passes attempted and completed, distance to space coverage in defensive transitions, and ball recovery time in high-pressure sequences.

Why This Matters
Individual awards are nice. But the real value is in the process: learning to quantify excellence. When you know what the best players actually do on the pitch, you can coach toward it, scout for it, and develop it in your own squad.
