Chris uses MyGamePlan as the backbone of how VVV-Venlo scouts the next opponent. Instead of starting from a blank page each week, he runs every report through the same structure, with event data and video sitting side by side from the first minute of prep.
On top of that base, he applies the club's own tagging logic to cut through the footage faster, isolating the patterns, individual threats, and recurring scenarios that shape how the staff will set up. The result is a tighter feedback loop between what the data shows and what the staff sees, with more time left for the tactical decisions that actually go on the whiteboard.

The Analyst's Lens
Chris Heuvelmans is the video and data analyst at VVV-Venlo. He joined the Eerste Divisie club's first-team staff in 2024/25. His main areas are team and opponent analysis. On matchday he works from the stands alongside the assistant coach, feeding live analysis into the workflow.
Before VVV Venlo, he was a consultant at performance measurement company Inmotio and was part of the performance staff at Vitesse Arnhem.
